Welcome to the St. Martin of Tours Council of the Knights of Columbus. We are a fraternal organization associated with the St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Fife, Washington. We assist church members and others in the community in our effort to follow the canons of the church.

In 2005, when Father Gary Weisenberger became the new Pastor of St. Martin of Tours, one of his spiritual leadership priorities was to establish an active and enthusiastic Knights of Columbus Council similar to Council 9238 in Gig Harbor where he had last served.

In order to accomplish this mission he enlisted the aid of parishioner John McGrath, a Fourth Degree Knight and a charismatic leader, to establish a “Round Table”. This group was made up of parishioner Knights who were members of other councils and men interested in becoming Knights or at least learning about the Knights of Columbus. Tutors for this fledgling Council were members of the Gig Harbor Council (9238), specifically “Dutch” Dolney and Jack Michael, who guided the small “Round Table” through the first exemplification of six new members into the First Degree in December 2005, to the “Application for Charter” being submitted October 11, 2006 to the national headquarters (Supreme), and in November 2006 when Supreme granted a Charter for Council 14162 made up of thirty-nine charter members. On January 21, 2007 a Knights of Columbus recognition Mass was conducted at St. Martin of Tours.

Upon completion of the Mass members of Council 14162 and guests attended a recognition lunch at the Poodle Dog in Fife. Since establishment of the Council it has grown to 57 members.
